Rennie graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine and completed her ENT training in London. She was a senior Rhinology Fellow at Charing Cross Hospital. She has a keen interest in research and has completed a PhD on Sinonasal airflow and transport at Imperial College London. Her work involved collaboration between the departments of Otolaryngology, Aeronautics and Nuclear Medicine. As an honorary research fellow and lecturer in the Aeronautics department she continues to be actively involved with this research. Catherine is one of the founder members of the ERS junior members committee and previous chairperson.
